All About Hosting

Hands-Off Hosting

This is exactly what it sounds like.

All websites require a domain name and a hosting provider. You are free to utilize the company of your choice for these services – Please do your research before making a decision. Do not simply go with the company that is at the top slot of Google Adwords – or with the lowest price you can find. Be aware. Compare what they offer in respect to what they charge.

You must provide the domain name and hosting space for your web site – Once acquired, simply email me the log in info and I can do the rest from there.

Why do I require YOU to set up an independent hosting account?
Im glad you asked. The simplest answer is that whoever maintains the hosting account has complete control of everything within it. Your web site content and images, emails, any databases – everything. Also, most domains are registered through the chosen hosting company – so your .com belongs to the account owner as well. Exactly.

Not disclosing this information is a tactic that some designers use to maintain their customer accounts – its essentially blackmail. And wrong.

That being said, I strongly recommend DreamHost. We have been a customer of theirs since Feb. of 2005 – and they currently serve as both our registrar and hosting company. Their Shared Hosting plan offers unlimited storage/bandwidth at a reasonable price and I can say (with a smile) that their customer service/technical service people have always been awesome to deal with.
